- Americans with
Disabilities Act — The Americans
with Disabilities Act standard for public entities
like MU requires that all programs, activities,
and services, when viewed in their entirety, should
be accessible to and useable by people with disabilities.
Undue burden and fundamental alteration are defenses.
This applies to MU Web sites.
- Missouri
Law (RSMo
Section 191.863) — In addition,
Missouri law generally requires state agencies, "when
developing, procuring, maintaining, or using information
technology”, to "allow employees, program participants,
and members of the public access to and use of
information and data that is comparable to the
access by individuals without disabilities.” The
Missouri Office of
Information Technology has issued
a statewide IT Accessibility Standard.
